An Organic Alternative...

Miss Patty's Herbal Pain Remedy was formulated as a response to a painful bunion (swollen joint of the foot). The client went to a podiatrist to investigate foot surgery, and was not satisfied with the expected outcome of having the operation. So instead, we looked for an alternative, and decided that relief of the pain was most important. A salve or balm would be applied directly to the foot in hopes of effecting relief of the painful joint.
After researching appropriate ingredients, a salve / balm was created and applied to the bunion. The remaining balm was rubbed into the finger joints which were slightly achy, to use up the excess. It was discovered that the Herbal Pain Remedy provided relief to the bunion on the foot, and also relieved the joint pain and stiffness in the fingers.
Next the balm / salve was offered to a carpal tunnel sufferer with a history of nerve pain. The Herbal Pain Remedy relieved the irritated nerve in the wrist!
Another situation arose when a friend needed relief from a bruise that she got while on vacation. Miss Patty's Herbal Pain Remedy was on hand, and it relieved the swelling and tenderness immediately.

A salve (or balm) is a thickened herbal oil. Organic olive oil is used as the ideal carrier because it is softening, soothing, and protective. It can relieve abrasions and infected skin with it's exceptional wound-healing and disinfectant qualities. In addition, olive oil is non-drying and best for massage, relieving sore, aching muscles and soothing joints with rheumatic pain.
Organic St. John's Wort is the bedrock of the formula, providing support to injured nerves while it relieves pain and inflammation.
Miss Patty's Herbal Pain Remedy is solidified with pure, filtered, cosmetic-grade beeswax and is intended for application to the skin. It is for external use only. Since a salve / balm is applied topically and not taken internally, the dosage is "as needed". As the formula was originally developed for a bunion with arthritis in the toe joint, the socks provided an automatic foot covering for the salve. Cover the treated area if appropriate to prevent transfer to clothing or furniture. The remedy is medicinal in nature, as opposed to cosmetic.
